Welcome to the Liverpool (South) Methodist Circuit. We are a group of welcoming churches serving communities across South Liverpool. Working closely together, we are exploring new ways to offer joyful worship and effective outreach.
This is a great city and in South Liverpool we live in and serve diverse communities, from leafy suburbs to the inner city. We are a community of Christians who, in neighbourhoods across this area, are seeking to play our part in worship and witness to Jesus. Please use our website to find out more about us.
Whilst Sunday morning worship is normally held in our individual churches, we now also hold United Worship at least twice a year at Hope Chapel, Liverpool Hope University to celebrate God at work with us.
In the last few years a number of forms of worship aimed at engaging with families, young adults and those who may have been away from church for some time, or have never attended, have emerged across the Circuit. Elm Hall Drive Church offer ‘TOAST’ and 'TOASTIE' Young Family Worship once a month on a Sunday afternoon, Court Hey Church hosts 'Messy Church', while Trinity Church Page Moss hosts both 'Messy Church' and 'RESTORED'. St Mary’s, Halewood offers seasonal Extravaganzas.
As we unite for worship, we are increasingly supporting each other in mission. Our churches have reviewed their local mission priorities and we are encouraging support from members for projects across the Circuit. For example, an after school homework club (Tuition4U) has been established at Princes Park Church, Toxteth with volunteer helpers from four other churches in the Circuit as well as churches in Toxteth. Whenever possible we share in mission with local ecumenical partners. Alpha courses have been shared with local churches in a number of places and we are exploring new mission opportunities in the inner city with financial support for a pioneer worker. Aigburth Church sold their building in 2010 and are based in a nearby former shop unit. Now known as HUB 361, the church hosts a range of activities including activities for parents and toddlers and knit & natter.
